Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in both conceptual and detailed mechanical design processes.
- Conduct tolerance analyses and perform comprehensive trade studies.
- Create and release 2D and 3D engineering models and documentation.
- Collaborate with various engineering and production teams to manage change notices and drawing revisions aimed at enhancing producibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Design precision mechanical and opto-mechanical prototypes, production components, and testing apparatus in a fast-paced environment.
- Support system and subassembly level test planning and execution.
- Address production nonconformance through Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and present findings at Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), and Design Assurance Reviews (DARs).
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
- Proficiency in CREO (Pro/Engineer) is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and interpreting GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Familiarity with PTC Windchill is required.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office are necessary.
- Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a secret clearance; US citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are highly valued.
- Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously while prioritizing conflicting demands is desirable.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
- Experience with SAR programs/contracts is a plus.
- Background in lab and flight integration and test support is advantageous.
