Job Title: Mental Health Clinician

Job Summary:

Set Free Alaska is seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team in the Women's Residential Program, Valley Oaks. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will play a vital role in delivering direct counseling services to clients in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for substance abuse and psychological problems using diagnostic criteria from the DSM 5, ICD 10, and ASAM.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with the client's needs and goals, utilizing a Strengths-Based Model and adhering to state agency standards.
  • Lead individual and group counseling sessions, as well as family sessions, to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to address clinical concerns and provide case conceptualization for clients.
  • Identify and develop plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration in at-risk clients, and apply appropriate interventions in crisis situations.
  • Coordinate care, referrals, and collateral involvement with other providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with local agencies, including the Department of Corrections, Office of Children's Services, and Therapeutic Courts.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
  • Ability to complete state-approved continued education units as a Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) within one year of employment.
  • Experience in substance abuse or mental health, including delivering direct therapeutic services, crisis intervention, assessments, treatment planning, and case management.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and State of Alaska background check.
