Job Responsibilities:
* Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry unit, including monitoring and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions.
* Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, using telemetry equipment to detect changes in cardiac status and respond promptly to emergencies.
* Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments according to physician orders, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions.
* Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients, collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care, promoting patient involvement in their own health management.
* Assist with wound care, catheterizations, and other medical procedures, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
* Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with facility policies.
* Respond to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition, providing critical care when necessary and coordinating with physicians for advanced interventions.
* Provide emotional support to patients and their families, helping them cope with illness and treatment.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to stay current with medical-surgical and telemetry nursing practices.
Job Requirements:
* Current RN state license in good standing.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing.
* Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
* Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
* Strong clinical skills, with the ability to perform patient assessments and manage care plans in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
* Organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation.
* Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
