Position Summary
The Automotive Service Technician plays a crucial role in executing vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks as per manufacturer and dealership standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize diagnostic tools to assess mechanical, electrical, and other vehicle-related problems.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and various automotive systems as specified in repair orders.
- Work diligently to identify issues and complete repairs within designated timeframes.
- Collaborate with service advisors and the parts department to effectively prioritize and schedule repairs.
- Perform comprehensive quality inspections to ensure all repairs adhere to industry standards or determine if additional safety service work is necessary.
- Address any discrepancies promptly with the Service Advisor (parts, promised time, etc.).
- Engage with customers to comprehend vehicle concerns and clarify recommended repairs.
- Provide precise cost estimates and timelines for repair work.
- Accurately document all diagnostic and repair activities.
- Complete repair orders and maintain thorough records of services rendered.
- Participate in factory-sponsored training sessions to stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and industry advancements.
- Attend training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
