About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer Lead to join our team at Acuity Brands. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative lighting products that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop concepts and prototypes for new products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Collaborate with technology partners across the globe to integrate cutting-edge controls technology into luminaires.
  • Manage multiple project timelines, interfacing with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Travel to production facilities to support pilot and pre-production assembly runs, and participate in Lean activities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop test plans for luminaire certification, validation of new features, and interoperability of new components within the product.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, preferably in lighting or a related field.
  • Applied experience in project, timeline, and budget management.
  • Proficient use of 3D/2D CAD, MS Office, and other relevant software.
  • Understanding of Lean and Six Sigma methodology and practices.
