Overview

Position Summary

Responsible for operating x-ray and fluoroscopy machinery to capture images of specific body areas under the supervision of the radiologist and imaging management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts radiographic assessments efficiently and safely, adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Prepares, manages, and administers contrast agents.
  • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of all radiographic devices.
  • Supports radiologists and physicians during imaging procedures.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of the workspace, maintaining adequate supply levels in examination rooms.
Physical Demands
Requires moderate to significant physical exertion in lifting and transporting patients weighing up to 75 lbs., as well as equipment and materials. Coordination is necessary for operating both heavy and delicate machinery. Frequent activities include standing, walking, sitting, stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, and kneeling. Vision and hearing capabilities are required for distances up to 10 feet.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program is mandatory. Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required, or if a recent graduate, eligibility for registry is necessary. New graduates must obtain their registry certification within one year of employment. Basic Life Support (BCLS) Certification is also required.
