Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric.

You will coordinate the overall provision of respiratory care, plan, develop, and implement respiratory care programs; set up all types of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy as ordered by physicians, educate patients on proper and safe use of equipment; monitor patient compliance data and conduct patient and physician follow-up as per Departmental Policy and Procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support services to patients
  • Coordinate the overall provision of respiratory care, plan, develop, and implement respiratory care programs
  • Set up all types of positive airway pressure (PAP) therapy as ordered by physicians
  • Educate patients on proper and safe use of equipment
  • Monitor patient compliance data and conduct patient and physician follow-up as per Departmental Policy and Procedures
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
  • Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice
  • Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Basic Life Support Certification through American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Allied Health or Related Field
  • Experience with Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) as well as other Respiratory Home Medical Equipment
