Position Summary:
The Logistics Yard Operator plays a crucial role in managing the flow of materials within the yard and warehouse. This position involves receiving, organizing, and distributing building supplies efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely and accurately load and unload products.
  • Organize and rearrange materials in the yard and warehouse.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections on forklifts in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace by stacking products neatly and disposing of waste properly.
  • Ensure proper loading techniques to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Keep inventory organized and visually appealing by stocking and cleaning as necessary.
  • Protect materials from weather-related damage when required.
  • Cut lumber and other materials as per customer requests.
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery safely.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Understanding of loading patterns and weight distribution.
  • Quick and precise control of machinery.
  • Completion of all necessary training and certification for equipment operation.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy items, up to 80 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
