Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Instructor to join our team in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Support:
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student, ensuring they receive the support necessary to succeed academically and personally.
    • Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instructional activities that accommodate diverse learning styles, promoting inclusive and supportive educational environments.
    • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Classroom Management:
    • Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and safe classroom environment, fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity among students and staff.
    • Employ behavioral management strategies to address and resolve issues that may impact student learning, ensuring a smooth and productive educational experience.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students, leveraging collective expertise to drive academic success.
    • Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, needs, and any concerns, ensuring transparency and collaboration throughout the educational journey.
  • Professional Development:
    • Stay current with best practices in special education, incorporating new strategies and techniques into teaching to remain at the forefront of innovative educational approaches.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior, providing critical data to inform instructional decisions and optimize student outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree.
  • Valid California Special Education Certification (Teacher of Students with Disabilities or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in special education, with a strong understanding of various disabilities and learning challenges, including autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances.
Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
