Role Purpose: The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and educating primarily an adult and geriatric patient population. This role focuses on individuals recovering from traumatic injuries, managing cardiac conditions, undergoing joint replacements, or experiencing post-surgical recovery. The therapist plays a crucial role in helping patients achieve their highest level of function and reintegrate into their communities while adapting to their individual capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver direct patient care services to ensure the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.
2. Utilize knowledge of physical therapy techniques and equipment to maximize patient safety and benefits.
3. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care quality and efficiency.
5. Engage in additional responsibilities aimed at improving departmental operations and educational opportunities.
6. Uphold a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to established policies and procedures.
7. Foster positive patient relations by demonstrating respect and dignity towards all patients, their families, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
Must possess a degree from an accredited physical therapy program (B.S., M.S., or DPT).
Licensure Requirements:
Must hold an active license in New York State or be eligible for a temporary permit.
Work Environment:
Position is per diem with a standard schedule of 4 hours, primarily during day shifts. Flexibility for weekend and PTO coverage is required.
Compensation:
Hourly rate of $35.00.
Physical Demands:
Essential physical capabilities include significant manual dexterity, the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force, and occasional exposure to various environmental factors.
