Job DescriptionWe are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with daily living activities, promoting their independence, and fostering a supportive environment.
Responsibilities:- Personal Care Assistance: Provide assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting needs.
- Household Management: Assist with household chores such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.
- Skill Development: Implement individualized plans to support skill development in areas such as communication, social interaction, daily living skills, and community integration.
- Behavioral Support: Provide positive behavioral supports and interventions to promote a safe and supportive environment for individuals.
- Transportation: Safely transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings using reliable transportation that meets all state requirements and is properly insured.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of individual progress, care provided, and any incidents or concerns.
- Collaborate with supervisors on special projects as assigned and complete tasks within agreed-upon timeframes.
- Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor that contribute to the program's success and align with your role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, move, or adjust items weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Dexterity to handle objects and operate office equipment.
- Mobility to navigate an office setting and other locations as needed, including bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching.
- Physical capability to perform PMAB (Positive Management and Behavioral Approaches) restraints as required by program protocols.
- Ability to write effectively and hear clearly (with or without assistance).
- Visual acuity sufficient for operating a motor vehicle and observing details within the work environment.

- Commitment to regular attendance.
- Proficiency in understanding, communicating, and comprehending information accurately in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively reason and solve practical problems related to the position.
- Completion of all center-mandated training requirements.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
- Comfort working closely with clients and/or family members who may have hygiene challenges.
- Flexibility to work long or irregular hours as needed.
- Potential exposure to hostile environments and high-crime areas.
- Possible exposure to tobacco products.
- Exposure to both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
- Standard noise levels within the working environment.
- Occasional travel by motor vehicle, van, bus, or plane may be required.
Qualified individuals must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation based on ADA requirements.
