Job Summary

The Conway Medical Center seeks a highly skilled Pharmacist Specialist to provide pharmaceutical care services to our patients. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for overseeing, monitoring, and preparing patient medication therapy, as well as providing drug information and education to caregivers, patients, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmaceutical care services to patients, including oversight, monitoring, and preparation of medication therapy.
  • Offer drug information and education to caregivers, patients, and students.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispensing and oversee the systems that charge or credit for medications and medication treatments.
  • Ensure that appropriate medications are available for patients and properly procured, prepared, stored, and maintained.
  • Supervise technical personnel who assist in preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of drugs and supplies.
  • Provide support, education, and oversight for investigational medications for patients.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred.
  • Current licensure by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy in good standing is required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.
  • Strong organizational skills, PC skills, and verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with nursing colleagues, physicians, and department heads is required.
