Job Summary

As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will play a critical role in delivering our purpose of bringing our heart to every moment of your health. You will be responsible for supporting the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing your Pharmacy Technician Support Staff, and will be accountable for the management, oversight, and operation of all aspects within your pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Safety: Ensure the safe handling and administration of medications, and maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
  • Pharmacy Professional Practice: Stay up-to-date on the latest pharmacy practices and regulations, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to controlled substances and patient confidentiality.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and improve the quality of pharmacy services, including patient satisfaction and medication error rates.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients and customers, and respond to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Personnel Management: Supervise and develop your Pharmacy Technician Support Staff, and ensure they have the necessary training and resources to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of medications and supplies, and ensure that they are properly stored and secured.
  • Financial Profitability: Contribute to the financial success of the pharmacy by managing costs and improving efficiency.
  • Loss Prevention: Identify and mitigate potential losses, including those related to inventory shrinkage and employee theft.
  • Workflow Management: Develop and implement efficient workflows to improve productivity and reduce errors.
Requirements
  • Active Pharmacy License in the state in which you are employed.
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA).
  • Free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree.
