Job Overview

Position Purpose:
The primary objective of this role is to efficiently produce animal feed by operating various feed mill production machinery, including but not limited to mixing, pelleting, and grinding systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of the Operations Manager to establish priorities for feed production.
  • Accurately input feed formulas into the system.
  • Utilize automated machinery to manufacture different types of feed, ensuring proper allocation to designated bins.
  • Maintain precise production documentation, including batch logs, pellet mill activity records, and inventory logs.
  • Conduct quality assurance by taking feed samples.
  • Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in the production area, adhering to OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure micro ingredient bins are adequately stocked.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Supervisor and other staff to fulfill delivery requirements.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in the onboarding and training of new staff members.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with computer systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to learn forklift operation.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Capability to work independently and adapt quickly to new processes.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
