Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Mental Health Technician to join our team at Clarion Psychiatric Center. As a key member of our mental health team, you will provide direct care to patients, support and educate Mental Health Technicians, and serve as a representative on our CPC committee.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients in accordance with the treatment plan under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Support, educate, and lead Mental Health Technicians in their roles.
  • Represent the Mental Health Technician team on our CPC committee.
  • Coordinate with the Unit Director to facilitate special patient events.
  • Assist with the orientation of new staff members.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services-related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic boundaries, therapeutic processes, growth and development, limit-setting, and behavior management.
  • Ability to teach and train patients and coworkers.
  • Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, with a rotating shift schedule.
  • Must not have documented Written Warnings for policy violations within the past 12 months.
  • Must be up to date on all required trainings.
Working Environment

This position is located in a hospital setting, with some risk involved in the event of an aggressive or violent patient. The work environment is well-lighted and ventilated, with frequent interruptions and interactions with patients and personnel.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and walk/stand for long periods.
  • Able to participate in Handle With Care.
Classification

This is a non-exempt position.
