Job Title: Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a highly skilled Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our Anesthesiology department, you will work under the direction of a Staff Anesthesiologist to administer anesthesia to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform relevant physical exams to inform anesthetic plans.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists to discuss patient findings and anesthetic strategies.
  • Monitor patients' physical reactions to anesthesia and report any adverse conditions to the anesthesiologist.
  • Administer emergency measures when complications arise.
  • Pretest and calibrate anesthesia delivery systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist anesthesiologists with implementing medically accepted monitoring techniques, epidural anesthetic procedures, and other regional anesthetic techniques.
  • Recognize and respond to abnormal patient responses during anesthesia, including resuscitation.
  • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to patients, keeping anesthesiologists informed of their progress.
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an anesthesiologist assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
  • Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
  • Current, valid Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) license in the state of Florida.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
