Design Checker Job Description

Waltonen Engineering is seeking a skilled Design Checker to review and scrutinize design documentation to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations within the Defense industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine engineering CAD models, drawings, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and sound design
  • Interact daily with Engineers, Designers, and Detailers regarding CAD models/drawings
  • Identify errors and corrections needed - ensuring that designs conform to customer specifications
  • Provide feedback and address any issues promptly
  • Regularly use Creo CAD software to open, manipulate, and modify specific files
Requirements:
  • Prior experience checking designs within the defense sector
  • Demonstrated work history checking CAD models
  • Ability to communicate constructively and professionally with team members
  • Familiarity with MIL standards & GD&T
  • Previous CAD modeling experience required
  • Must be a team player with strong collaborative skills
  • Only United States citizens can be considered
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Checking experience utilizing Creo CAD software
  • Exposure to Teamcenter, a product lifecycle management (PLM) system, is a plus
  • Familiarity with Vismockup is a plus
