PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the maintenance team by sourcing parts from inventory and allocating them to the corresponding work orders, procuring necessary components from suppliers for timely repairs, and managing communication by answering calls and dispatching mechanics or supervisors during breakdowns.
  • Perform data entry on work orders, including recording mechanic labor hours, parts utilized, additional repair costs, and detailed repair descriptions.
  • Generate purchase orders based on requisitions for stock parts and items that do not have electronic inventory tracking.
  • Obtain price quotes from multiple vendors for each ordered item, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with the Menards purchasing team to obtain parts and supplies through preferred vendors whenever feasible.
  • Package and ship items to repair facilities as needed.
  • Receive deliveries from vendors, ensuring that the received parts match the ordered items, verifying quantities, and ensuring proper labeling and stocking in designated areas.
  • Request information and establish accounts with new vendors for products and repair services.
  • Continuously seek improvements in processes while being mindful of system limitations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, including walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting materials or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
  • Warehouse environment may expose team members to temperature fluctuations (hot/cold), noise, dust, and uneven walking surfaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to enter data accurately and efficiently.
  • Must demonstrate focus and determination in work tasks.
  • Reliability and responsibility are crucial attributes.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both on the phone and in person.
