About the Role

Abacus Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in support of the Space Systems Command in Colorado Springs, CO. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and definition of complex systems, including performing risk assessments, managing interfaces, technical planning, requirements verification, and involvement in systems architecture development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and support model-based systems to support a variety of systems.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and improve Systems Engineering processes for the program that are appropriate for all levels of system development.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to determine process needs and to support other engineers as a model-based systems SME.
  • Systems Engineering: Partner with other Systems Engineers to design full life-cycle systems engineering processes that include documentation, workflow automation, efficiency measurement, and bi-directional traceability.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience; Master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Satellite Ground Systems: Experience with satellite ground systems.
  • MBSE Experience: Experience with defining and executing MBSE projects.
  • MBSE Tools: Familiarity with MBSE tools, such as Cameo, MagicDraw or similar modeling tools.
  • DOORS Experience: Familiarity with DOORS or DOORs Next Gen.
  • Systems Engineering Knowledge: Knowledge of systems engineering and integration principles and concepts.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead systems engineering activities that define and evolve a system of systems baseline.
  • Test and Evaluation Experience: Experience with test and evaluation.
Desired Experience
  • MBSE Integration: Ability to integrate MBSE models and other technical baseline data, including CAD, Models, and Sim.
  • Senior Client Experience: Ability to work with senior client personnel, leaders, and decision makers.
  • Cloud Experience: Experience on programs migrating systems to the cloud.
  • Certifications: INCOSE Certification, MBSE Certification, SysML Certification.
Security Qualifications
  • Clearance: Must have fully adjudicated DoD Top Secret clearance or DOE Q clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen.
