POSITION SUMMARY
The Custodian plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the facility, which encompasses various areas such as offices, restrooms, break rooms, and production spaces. The individual is responsible for utilizing appropriate cleaning agents and methods to effectively sanitize and maintain these environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consistent and timely attendance is crucial for the effectiveness of this role and the overall team. All employees are expected to maintain regular attendance.
- Maintain cleanliness in offices, reception areas, restrooms, break rooms, locker facilities, outdoor spaces, and production floors.
- Tasks include collecting litter, replenishing supplies, sanitizing toilets, sinks, and surfaces, cleaning glass and mirrors, dusting, and managing floor care.
- Ensure proper drainage and unclog as necessary. Clean water dispensers and emergency wash stations.
- Safely handle and utilize cleaning chemicals, adhering to guidelines and wearing suitable personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Dispose of waste from all areas including the plant, office, and breakroom.
- Perform floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing tile surfaces, and vacuuming carpets. This includes operating floor cleaning equipment in production areas.
- Wash windows and clean window sills.
- Monitor supply inventory and place orders as needed, including kitchen and breakroom supplies.
- Follow cleaning schedules and directives from supervisors.
- Maintain the exterior of the facility as required, including mowing, debris removal, snow clearance from walkways, and applying salt during winter conditions.
- Utilize clean tools for all cleaning tasks.
- Operate a forklift to assist with various assignments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in custodial services.
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift operation experience.
- Safety: Consistently prioritize safety by practicing safe work habits and fostering a secure work environment.
- Communication Skills: Effectively convey information and actively listen to ensure clarity.
- Time Management: Efficiently utilize time to complete assigned tasks.
- Sense of Urgency: Prioritize tasks effectively, focusing on the most critical duties first.
- Attendance: Must maintain punctuality and readiness for work each day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Must be capable of exerting moderate to heavy physical effort, with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.
- Possess a strong range of motion.
- Ability to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend as needed.
- Must be able to see, speak, and hear clearly.
- Ability to read instructions and operate measuring devices.
- Must be able to navigate both even and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, both hot and cold.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, including seatbelts when required.
- Must be physically capable of accessing all areas of the facility and grounds.
- Some tasks may require working in confined spaces.
- Some tasks may require close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus on small details.
- A clean driving record is required as driving is an essential function of this position.
SALARY
- Starting at $14/hour, commensurate with experience.
