About Us:
Our Emergency Services department is committed to providing culturally sensitive care to the diverse community of Southern New Hampshire. We operate a 30-bed critical care unit and serve as a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Accredited Stroke Facility. Our department has implemented a secure unit to ensure safe care for psychiatric patients, and we are equipped to handle increased patient volumes and acuity with additional resources.
Role Responsibilities:
As a vital member of the Patient Care Services team, the Emergency Services Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment and treatment of pediatric and adult patients facing various medical emergencies. This role requires critical clinical decision-making skills to stabilize and intervene effectively.
Key Duties:
- Evaluate and implement priority-based nursing care tailored to meet individual patient needs.
- Incorporate patient values and evidence-based practices into care delivery.
- Engage with patients and their families throughout the care process.
- Operate competently within the defined scope of practice.
- Utilize effective communication strategies to enhance team collaboration.
- Delegate appropriate care tasks to the patient care team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Candidate Profile:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN).
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of New Hampshire.
- Ability to achieve the following competencies:
- Within 30 days: Basic Life Support certification.
- Within 90 days: Intravenous Therapy and Acute Stroke Management.
- Within 180 days: Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Rhythm Interpretation, Management of Critical Care Medications and Infusions, Procedural Sedation & Analgesia.
- Within 1 year: Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification.
- Within 2 years: Trauma Nurse Certification Course, Triage Nurse.
- Within 3 years: Advanced Stroke Life Support.
