Job Title: General Manager

Windy City Cannabis is seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our dispensary team in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive cannabis dispensary experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Create a Service Culture: Model, train, and coach behavioral expectations to deliver Windy City's exceptional service standard.
  • Ensure Compliance and Safety: Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, and lead the team to work in the same way.
  • Drive Sales and Revenue: Track and achieve various sales metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Prepare for Inspections: Prepare and effectively lead state inspectors through unannounced inspections.
  • Maintain Store Environment: Ensure the store is organized, efficient, clean, and welcoming in both front and back of house.
  • Develop and Lead Team Members: Drive employee morale, embody Windy City values, and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Implement Processes and Procedures: Effectively implement new processes and procedures, ensuring seamless communication and execution across all levels.
  • Schedule and Manage Staff: Own and implement exempt and hourly schedules that align to guest and business needs.
  • Competitor Analysis: Know and assess the competition, leverage customer comments, reviews, feedback, and secret shop competitors to drive the business.
  • Train and Develop Staff: Regularly train and develop staff according to company guidelines.
  • Inventory Management: Track and own all processes related to sales and inventory management, including special orders, employee samples, and weekly deals.
  • Oversee Deliveries and Inventory: Oversee all store deliveries with diligence and accuracy, and in accordance with company and state regulations.
  • Inventory Audits: Oversee nightly and monthly inventory audits in accordance with company and state guidelines to ensure there is no diversion of inventory.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of successful experience in a retail management position.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to acquire a state credential by passing required background check and any other requirement listed.
  • Experience with IDFPR and Illinois Cannabis Program rules and regulations strongly preferred.
  • Proven organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Self-directed and able to leverage all resources to seek solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity and comfort with technology and point of sale systems.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of P&L, labor budgeting, inventory, and sales reports.
  • A fundamental understanding of cannabinoids and their effects on the body is preferred.
  • Ability to satisfy company requirements for vaccination against COVID-19, or obtain approved medical or religious exemption.
