Position Overview

WSP is excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineering Manager. This role offers the chance to engage in significant projects within our Structures Transportation Team, contributing to a dynamic organization dedicated to fulfilling client needs and overcoming challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute professional structural engineering tasks, particularly in Bridge Design, as part of a collaborative team.
  • Develop contract drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct design calculations for bridge replacement initiatives.
  • Perform advanced structural analysis.
  • Evaluate existing structures for load rating and necessary repairs.
  • Utilize structural analysis software and CADD tools (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation) effectively.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, architects, planners, and scientific professionals to ensure project success across multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and clients with professionalism.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in structural engineering methodologies.
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as dictated by business requirements.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering, specifically in structural or bridge transportation projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Familiarity with standards and specifications from relevant New England agencies.
  • Proficient in structural analysis software and CADD (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality work.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Flexibility to accommodate project-specific schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience with BIM software.
  • Familiarity with AASHTOWare BrR software.
  • Active participation in professional societies.
