About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Guthrie Clinic. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform established laboratory testing procedures and other related computer, clerical, and technical functions.
  • Work under the direct supervision of a Supervisor or Technologist to ensure the quality and accuracy of test results.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all sections of the laboratory, including Hematology, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis, and Serology.
  • Communicate effectively with authorized sources to provide accurate test results and specimen information.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including inventorying supplies and reporting shortages to Section Supervisor.
  • Stay up-to-date with laboratory practices, procedures, and techniques to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Must meet all requirements to be licensed by NYSDOH or grandfathered in NYS as an MLT.
  • Certification by the ASCP Board of Registry preferred or Board Eligible.
  • Minimum of 12 CEU's annually.
