We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse Endoscopy to join our team at Surgical Care Affiliates. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient endoscopy experience.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized perioperative patient plans of care, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Protect patients from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
- Ensure safe operation of equipment and machinery, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Administer medications safely and correctly, utilizing the 8 rights of medication administration.
- Implement aseptic technique and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assess patient status at intervals, providing nursing care and monitoring in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Perform interventions to maintain patient tissue perfusion, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems, and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
- Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects, contributing to the development of evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan patient care, ensuring a comprehensive and patient-centered approach.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- One year of GI, OR, and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Current state nursing licensure to practice in good standing.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
- Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
- Successful completion of Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) course is required when pediatric care is included in the facility scope of services within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
- Specialty certification in GI Nursing is preferred.
