Type of Position:
8-month contract position initially. This role will be filling in for someone going on military leave. Long term, it is very possible for this position to "open doors" to longer term employment.

Compensation:


We are generally targeting $55.00/hr to $60.00/hr to start, but there may be some additional flexibility for well qualified candidates.

Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours (but OT is unlikely given the hours for this role).

PTO is available on contract (and is negotiable). There would be significantly more PTO if hired on direct.

Job Description / Duties:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a government contractor to help hire an IT Systems Administrator (TS Eligible). We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator to support our Chantilly, VA facility and regional area offices.

We are a smaller office, so candidates who have a diverse background (touching on IT Security, Risk Management, and other areas are preferred).

The role is broken down into the following key performance areas:


Install, configure, and maintain our local area networks (LANs), customer data communication networks, operating systems, servers, and various Cisco and Palo Alto network equipment.

Configure and validate information system compliance using DISA STIGs, SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) and STIG Viewer, and other specialized management software.

Work with local ISSO/ISSM on Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages for enterprise architectures in accordance with CFR 32 Part 117/DAAPM, ICD 503/CNSSI 1253, JSIG, NIST and NIST requirements.

Assist local ISSO/ISSM in creation and maintenance of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages, System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports (RARs), Security Controls Traceability Matrices (SCTMs) and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) for all classified systems.

Administer security systems, policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with applicable government and corporate directives, guidelines, and contractual obligations.

Conduct analysis and assessment of the security control assessment guidance, procedures, and templates to ensure correct and uniform implementation of the new RMF assessment processes.

Provide technical oversight for classified system compliance and conduct self-assessments.

Interface directly with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and other system sponsoring clients to conduct security inspections, tests, and reviews.


Required Skills / Experience:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with system administration of moderately complex networked IT systems.
Experience with Linux system administration required.
Must have relevant experience with configuration of network components (i.e. Cisco and Palo Alto switches/routers, firewall administration, etc.)
This role requires the ability to obtain a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance. Top Secret Clearance requires US Citizenship, therefore all candidates must be US Citizens to be eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills / Experience:
Military veteran with relevant IT and computer security experience will be considered a plus.
Familiarity with NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations preferred.
Active Top Secret Security Clearance is highly preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:


This role works normal business hours (day shift) - will generally average about 30 hours per week (although this could bump up closer to 40 hours over time).

Offer will be contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen (drug screen will include cannabis per federal requirements).
