Clinical Technician - Emergency Services
St. John's Hospital Camarillo
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Technician to support our healthcare team. As a Clinical Technician, you will be responsible for providing support to healthcare professionals and patients, ensuring the smooth operation of medical equipment, and assisting in patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform crutch fitting and demonstrate competency in applying arm slings for adult and pediatric patients.
- Therapeutically bandage arms and legs with ace bandages, and demonstrate competency in performing EKGs.
- Order lab work, respiratory orders, and EKGs via the patient care system, and perform daily stockroom supply checks.
- Partner with nursing, medical, and respiratory staff to assist in patient procedures, such as gastric lavage and stabilizing extremities for suturing.
- Greet patients, record their arrival time, and assist with traffic control for patients and families entering the main ER doors.
Requirements
- Current AHA BLS Certification (CT CPRBLS)
- Current Phlebotomist Certification (CT CPT)
- Six (6) months recent hospital experience as a CNA, CT, or EMT
Preferred Requirements:
- Successful completion of a Clinical Technician Program or related work experience.
Special Skills:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate common office equipment, including computers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.
This position is represented by SEIU LocalUHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
