Job Description for Wait Staff at Matty's Sporthouse Grill

Job Summary:

Matty's Sporthouse Grill is seeking a skilled Wait Staff member to join our team. As a Wait Staff member, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Service: Greet all customers in a warm and sincere manner, take orders and serve meals and beverages promptly and courteously.
  • Operational Efficiency: Operate the complete POS system and other required software, ensure that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored.
  • Food and Beverage Safety: Follow safety and sanitation rules and practices, ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies.
  • Teamwork: Exercise teamwork with other staff, help bus and set tables, and perform side-work as needed.
  • Communication: Inform guests of specials, menu changes, make suggestions, and answer questions regarding food, beverage, and service.
  • Problem Resolution: Anticipate and react to meet guests' needs, report all complaints and disputes to a manager immediately.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma preferred.
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Skills: Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills, excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Physical Demands: Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
  • Availability: Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
