Job Summary

The Clinic Wellness Veterinarian is a key member of our team, responsible for providing high-quality preventive care to owned dogs and cats. This role requires a skilled and compassionate veterinarian who can work effectively in a fast-paced clinic and shelter environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide preventive care services, including vaccinations, disease and parasite testing, and owner counseling.
  • Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during shifts, including emergency care, restraint, euthanasia, and treatment.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local veterinarians and promote the SPCA of Texas mission within the veterinary community.
  • Participate in community outreach and education initiatives, including free community vaccine clinics.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent.
  • Current Texas State Veterinary License and DEA license.
  • Personal liability insurance.
  • Interest in animal welfare and serving low-income and underserved communities.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic and shelter environment. The successful candidate will be able to rapidly and accurately process information, work under stressful conditions, and maintain a compassionate environment for animals and pet owners.
