Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead Project Engineer to join our team at Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development of customer programs and day-to-day activities of the Platform Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the development, documentation, and implementation of Platform Engineering processes, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Structure and manage the Platform Engineering team, ensuring clear responsibilities and accountability, as well as optimum efficiency and productivity.
  • Capacity Planning: Continuously analyze and communicate capacity requirements, ensuring the team is equipped to meet current and anticipated workload.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain an in-depth understanding of technical requirements driving the development of RECARO Aircraft Seating products, including OEM and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Ensure all processes and procedures are documented and compliant with company certification standards, representing the company in internal and external audits.
  • Budget Management: Responsible for maintaining compliance with department and program budgets once approved.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments to plan and ensure proper and timely Engineering support for customer and development programs.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including airlines, FAA/EASA, installers, and suppliers.
  • Training and Development: Define and implement training programs to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Risk Management: Provide input to the program risk analysis and risk management process, ensuring effective risk mitigation actions are taken.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or Master's degree in a technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in the Aerospace interior industry, or equivalent experience.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth understanding of FAA/EASA Part 21, Part 25 Certification procedures, CAD systems, mechanical design, drafting, and tolerance.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of meeting commitments, leadership, team building, and motivational skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise mature judgment and anticipate technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent internal and external communication and presentation skills.
