Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Intermountain Health Heber Valley Hospital. As an integral part of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to patients and staff.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position, working 32 hours per week, with a schedule that includes Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The successful candidate will be required to prepare daily specials and soups from scratch for approximately 60 people.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and guidelines
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to HACCP food safety standards
  • Customer Service: Interact with patients and staff in a friendly and professional manner
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels and rotate stock to ensure freshness and quality
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other kitchen staff to achieve smooth meal service

Requirements:

  • Fitness and Physical Ability: Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb stairs (if necessary)
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Work Schedule: Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays

Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with excellent time management and organizational skills. A Food Handler's Permit is required by county law, and the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively is essential.
