Job Title: Tooling Engineer

At Martinrea International Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Tooling Engineer to join our team. As a Tooling Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful launch of new programs and the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain tooling method plans for new business proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements and plant capabilities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and production tooling groups to ensure die builds meet specific needs and are delivered on-time and within budget.
  • Manage tooling progress with vendors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of dies.
  • Review and disseminate supplier quotation packages, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation, including quote support, die method plans, and manufacturing concern issues.
  • Travel to Martinrea facilities and integrators to support tooling build, buy-off, and integration activities.
  • Implement material reduction initiatives and develop press set-up documents.
  • Work closely with EHS to ensure all safety protocols are met and followed.
  • Develop a Competency Level 3 understanding of advanced processes and interactions as determined by the leadership team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or 5 years of related experience.
  • Tooling experience required.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a dedication to quality.
  • Knowledge of computer software for Windows, Auto-CAD, or CAD equivalent.
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 and APQP processes.
