Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Technician at Margaret Mary Health, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists with medication distribution and charging. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires strong communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with medication distribution and charging
  • Retrieve orders to be filled and enter refill information via computer
  • Deliver filled orders and input orders and charges
  • Filling cassettes accurately and resolving missing doses
  • Printing new labels and obtaining R.Ph. approval
  • Refilling for R. Ph. check the anesthesia and narcotic boxes
  • Delivering filled orders of all types to the correct location
  • Answering phone correctly as pharmacy tech and taking complete messages
  • Teaching, communicating with, and supervising volunteers
  • Resolving nurse-pharmacy departmental issues and answering questions within Tech scope
  • Communicating ideas or ways of improving safety, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Transmitting orders to wholesalers and checking items received
  • Preparing drug invoices for payment and assigning account numbers
  • Filing invoices by month, date, and day accurately
  • Sorting and preparing for return outdated drugs
  • Preparing for, taking, and entering the annual inventory
  • Restocking shelves and drawers and stocking Omnicell
  • Compounding and other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No work experience required, but must have or complete course for Pharmacy Technician licensure through the state of Indiana within 6 months
  • Must acquire basic knowledge of drugs, dosages, usage, reference sources, and other pertinent pharmaceutical information
  • Must possess strong math skills
Physical Requirements

Constant walking, standing, use of hands, and manual dexterity; frequent stooping and reaching; occasional sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, and talking. May need to lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
