We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRI Technologist to join our team at Guthrie Clinic. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating MRI scanners, preparing patients for exams, and ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities- Initiate and operate MRI scanners, selecting appropriate protocols and parameters for each patient.
- Prepare patients for exams, explaining procedures and answering questions to ensure a comfortable and safe experience.
- Monitor patient conditions during scans, responding to emergencies and providing assistance as needed.
- Transfer patients safely to and from the scanner table, using non-magnetic equipment and following proper safety protocols.
- Prepare and administer contrast agents, monitoring patient reactions and responding to any adverse effects.
- Display and record images, adjusting parameters and window levels to ensure high-quality results.
- Alert radiologists to abnormalities, ensuring prompt attention and follow-up.
- Maintain familiarity with life support equipment, including pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and EKG monitoring.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques.
- Minimum of two years' experience in MRI scanning, with a strong background in radiology and patient care.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with additional training or certification in radiology technology.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to lift, push, reach, bend, and walk to care for patients, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
