Join our team at Henry Ford Company, a renowned nonprofit cultural institution, where innovation and history converge.

We are currently seeking a friendly and skilled Café Attendant who has a genuine enthusiasm for food and beverage crafting. In this role, you will engage with customers, provide information, take orders, process payments, and prepare a variety of food and drink items. Maintaining a tidy and well-supplied workspace is essential, along with keeping up-to-date with food and beverage quality standards and preparation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly, share details about menu specials, respond to inquiries, and manage orders and transactions.
  • Prepare a range of food items, including sandwiches and baked goods, grind coffee beans, brew coffee and tea, and serve customers.
  • Promote coffee and tea selections, explaining the unique qualities of each and guiding customers on brewing techniques.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work and dining areas, including waste disposal and sanitization of tools and equipment.
  • Enhance your knowledge of brewing methods, beverage varieties, and food presentation to elevate service quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock items as necessary.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic and energetic team.
  • Comply with all food safety standards and quality regulations.

Your Qualifications

Prior experience in food and beverage service or customer interaction is preferred.

Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Dedication to providing excellent customer service.
