About the Role:
The Physical Therapist Assistant will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of Hope Community Resources, Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute treatment plans for patients, as recommended by the physical therapist, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate competency in accordance with hospital policy, procedures, and practices to maintain a safe and effective work environment.
- Instruct patients in equipment use, per physical therapist's recommendations, to promote independence and confidence.
- Identify and implement patient/family education, in consultation with the physical therapist, to enhance patient understanding and adherence to treatment plans.
- Complete accurate records, including charge sheets, treatment records, and medical record documents, in a timely manner and in accordance with Hope Community Resources, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Assure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of charge capture, per system, hospital, or clinic, and department policies and procedures.
- Complete accurate and timely reports for any unusual occurrences, which occur to patients, visitors, staff, or self, and actively use safety measures to prevent avoidable injuries.
- Communicate patient status at care conferences to ensure effective collaboration and coordination of care.
- Assist and collaborate with the medical director, physician, or consultants, and other staff members of the rehabilitation team, in circumstances where joint efforts are necessary.
- Participate in staff meetings to stay informed and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Participate in inservices to disseminate professional and/or administrative knowledge and/or policies, to enhance professional growth and development.
- Assist with the maintenance of hospital or clinic equipment, reporting need for repairs and replacements when necessary, to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Participate in specialized training for program development, when requested by Director, to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as PTA in the state where the hospital or clinic resides.
- Current BLS certification required.
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
