Role Description:
Every day, the individuals you assist will inspire you. The high-quality plasma you gather will contribute to life-saving medications. A strong commitment to customer service and excellence is paramount. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and act as a plasma donor screener while performing phlebotomy to facilitate center operations.
Your Contributions:
· Welcome donors as they arrive and depart from the donation area.
· Conduct venipuncture on donors and program the plasmapheresis machine.
· Observe donors throughout the donation process and manage any reactions.
· Execute all necessary tasks for the setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment within your training scope.
· Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines.
· Maintain supply levels, dismantle empty cartons, and assist with proper waste disposal.
· Measure and document donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, while monitoring the electronic donor questionnaire system.
· Perform finger sticks, test samples, and record additional donor metrics including hematocrit, total protein, and weight.
· Input donor data into the Donor Information System (DIS).
· Coordinate donor flow on the donation floor and manage donor compensation through the Debit Card system.
· Collaborate with the center management team to identify operational enhancements, initiating process improvements using company-approved methodologies such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Ability to stand and/or walk for the entire work shift.
· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Capability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
· Ability to lift up to 5 lbs. regularly, with occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
· Fine motor skills, depth perception, and the ability to hear equipment from a distance.
· Due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove usage.
· A minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer or patient-facing role is advantageous.
