Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at a facility in Vacaville, California. This is a registry position with our company.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide high-quality patient care and support our team in delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify abnormal breath sounds, recognize changes in patient status, and determine the need for supplemental oxygen or suction.
  • Report changes in patient status to charge nurses or physicians and staff caring for the patient.
  • Document Respiratory Care consistently with hospital charting standards.
  • Comply with hospital policies for receiving doctor's orders, including verbal and phone.
  • Accurately give report to oncoming shift.
  • Report extraordinary patient problems to supervisors, directors, or administrators as necessary.
  • Comply with hospital policies and procedures for selected precautions, such as seizure or suicide.
  • Use principles of body mechanics in mobilizing patients or objects.
  • Ask for help when lifting heavy patients.
  • Comply with policies for restraints.
  • Comply with policies for electrical safety.
  • Check the Emergency Equipment policy.
  • Incorporate infection control principles in practice.
  • Demonstrate skills related to the management of emergency situations.
  • Comply with policy for cardio-pulmonary arrest.
  • Demonstrate competency for ABG drawing and sampling.
  • Demonstrate competency for Quality Control and ABG analyzers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 36 months (3yrs) as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Ability to build rapport with patients.
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association).
  • Must have up to date credentials in the state of California.
