About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Specialized Foster Care Counselor. In this role, you will work closely with foster families, providing expert advice and support to help them navigate the challenges of caring for children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional advice and guidance to foster families on child development, parenting skills, and crisis management.
  • Strengthen foster families' ability to care for children and adolescents, focusing on prevention and early intervention.
  • Support young people and family group leaders in crisis situations, developing constructive action plans and solutions.
  • Facilitate the triangular relationship between educators, children, and parents/family members, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Act as a mediator, finding targeted solutions in situations with different interests.
  • Ensure child protection according to § 8a SGB VIII, collaborating with internal and external partners.
  • Participate in the development of the SIEH, contributing to the growth and improvement of our services.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in the field.

Requirements

We are looking for an expert who can provide high-quality support to foster families. Ideal candidates will have professional experience and a systemic or trauma-pedagogical additional qualification.
