Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking a skilled Union Carpenter Journeyman to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up trailers and equipment for construction projects
  • Study blueprints and building plans to determine material requirements and measurements
  • Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures
  • Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations
  • Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials
  • Perform concrete and rough carpentry work
  • Hand-set walls, footings, and gang wall forms
  • Install structural concrete decks and drywall
  • Perform finish carpentry, including doors, frames, and hardware
  • Millwork and cabinetry
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a carpenter
  • Trade or technical school certification/diploma is a plus
