Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nurse Educator serves as a vital educational and clinical resource for nursing staff, providing consultation in their area of expertise. Responsibilities include:
- Developing, coordinating, and instructing educational programs tailored to meet the needs of both professional and non-professional personnel.
- Assessing staff needs, teaching, guiding, and evaluating learning to implement evidence-based practices.
- Building multidisciplinary relationships within the hospital and beyond.
Qualifications:
Education:
Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor's degree in nursing. A graduate degree in nursing or a related field is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
Current RN license from the appropriate regulatory body is required. BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is mandatory upon hire, with ACLS certification required within six months. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is also required within six months of hire.
Experience:
A minimum of three years of clinical experience is necessary, with teaching experience in an academic or healthcare setting preferred.
