Job SummaryThe Fiber Installation Specialist will be responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic systems, including resolving and repairing issues, setting up and configuring residential networking equipment, and analyzing and recording test results. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with physical labor.
Responsibilities- Install and maintain fiber optic systems, including resolving and repairing issues
- Set up and configure residential networking equipment, such as ONTs, routers, and switches
- Analyze and record test results, using company-issued devices and customer equipment
- Interface with customers to identify and remedy sources of customer-perceived issues
- Drive a company vehicle between home/office, warehouse, and work sites, in a safe and courteous manner
- Maintain a clean and stocked vehicle, with equipment ready for use
- Complete paperwork accurately, and report and record all work order status updates
- Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting and interacting with customers in a professional and courteous manner
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license, with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Experience with small hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to travel and work extended hours, including overtime and weekends
- Ability to lift, climb, and carry ladders, with a weight of up to 80lbs
