About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Optometrist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente.

Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that involves providing top-notch optometric care to our patients. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for conducting visual examinations, detecting and diagnosing eye conditions, and prescribing treatments. Your expertise in optometry will enable you to work with patients of all ages, from children to adults.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. You will be working as part of a collaborative team, ensuring seamless integration of services and exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including detection and diagnosis of abnormal eye conditions
  • Prescribe treatments, such as glasses, contacts, or medications, as needed
  • Provide specialized testing and therapy, including contact lens exams, visual fields, tonometry, orthoptics, low vision evaluation, fluorescein angiography, and ocular photography
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school or college of Optometry accredited by the California State Board of Optometry
  • Current Optometrist License (California)
  • National Provider Identifier
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and mechanics of the human eye
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a one-year ACOE-accredited residency program
  • Glaucoma certification preferred
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a generous compensation package, we provide comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
