Position SummaryThe Senior Accounting Specialist will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining comprehensive financial records and preparing detailed financial reports.
- Reconciling various accounts and managing both accounts payable and receivable.
- Overseeing payroll processes and ensuring timely and accurate payroll entries.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (both online and Enterprise) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and managing accounts payable and receivable.
- A strong background in payroll processing.
- Analytical skills to interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- A degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
The Senior Accounting Specialist will:
- Exhibit a robust understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain organized financial records for various entities.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Support the budgeting process with relevant financial data and analysis.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Perform regular audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting obligations.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including:
- At least 2 years of experience with QuickBooks.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable.
- 2 years of experience in accounts receivable.
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing.
