Senior Pharmacy Technician

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including operating pharmacy systems, processing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records.
- Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with customers and patients to resolve issues and answer questions.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, sharing best practices with team members to drive efficiency and excellence.
- Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers, identifying and addressing their needs to ensure a positive experience.
- Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, and verifying medicine.
- Assist in scheduling and maintaining work flow, ensuring the pharmacy runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
- Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required.
- Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
- Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
- Assist and support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data.
- May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
- PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
- Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access information on-line).
- Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
