The Cyber Intelligence Analyst II will assume site lead responsibilities and assist the Operational Intelligence Division (OID), Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information (OSII), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) with intelligence analysis and investigative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Employ analytical methodologies to extract target information while supporting significant complex multi-defendant investigations.
- Conduct quality assurance to assess the validity and relevance of gathered information.
- Establish and maintain computerized intelligence databases tailored to the division's specific requirements and generate statistical and relational reports for division management and headquarters' initiatives.
- Coordinate projects with headquarters' intelligence research specialists and fellow team members.
- Provide guidance to team members on specific findings and suggest suitable courses of action.
- Facilitate liaison and coordination activities with counterparts and personnel across the intelligence and law enforcement sectors.
- Gather, evaluate, analyze, and synthesize information from diverse sources, including raw intelligence, and compile it into actionable analytical products, reports, and correspondence.
- De-anonymize individuals/suspects.
- Document and disseminate analytical findings.
- Utilize relevant databases, geospatial data, and resources to manage client relationships, including identifying client needs, requirements, and expectations.
- Identify intelligence deficiencies and contribute to the development of operational programs through regular review of message traffic, intelligence data, and other information sources.
- Collaborate with intelligence research specialists and other team members to share information, resolve issues, eliminate redundancy, and coordinate multi-divisional efforts.
- Prepare and deliver briefings on various intelligence topics.
- Recommend modifications and enhancements to existing systems.
- Review and assess incoming intelligence data to ensure completeness and compliance with necessary input criteria for established computer systems.
- Compile and submit weekly status updates, intelligence reports, investigative reports, and briefing presentations.
- Complete mandatory training on computer security awareness and emergency evacuation protocols.
- Develop analytical techniques to extract target information while supporting major complex multi-defendant investigations.
- Initiate requests to guide tasking and assist in collection management.
- Select, construct, and refine query strategies against relevant collection databases.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of experience in intelligence analysis and reporting.
- Experience with financial crimes and/or collaboration with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network/Office of Foreign Assets (FINCEN/OFAC).
- Experience in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis.
- Background check required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in:
- Intelligence analysis and reporting.
- Cyber Intelligence methodologies.
- Exploitation of social media and open-source information.
- Navigating the dark web and conducting deep web searches.
- De-anonymizing individuals/suspects.
- Understanding of virtual currency concepts.
- Federal law enforcement investigative techniques and procedures.
- Microsoft Windows and MAC operating systems.
- Familiarity with a foreign language, such as Chinese, Russian, or Spanish.
- Prior knowledge of Semantica Pro, i2 Analyst Notebook, National Crime Information Center (NCIC), TECS, CLEAR, or Accurint.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a top-secret clearance.
- Familiarity with commercial software designed for internet searches and social media exploitation.
