Key Responsibilities
The Automotive Technician will be tasked with the following duties:
- Conducting thorough inspections and performing necessary repairs to ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition.
- Utilizing diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical systems.
- Executing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication in accordance with established schedules.
- Adjusting and repairing brake systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Overhauling and disassembling components such as transmissions and engines as required.
- Performing tire maintenance, including changing and balancing, to guarantee safe operation.
- Documenting all repairs and maintenance activities accurately to meet company and regulatory standards.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols to minimize risks.
- Collaborating with fellow technicians and mentoring apprentices to foster a productive work environment.
Working Environment
The role involves working primarily in a workshop setting, with occasional field visits. The technician must be prepared for physical activities such as standing, lifting, and maneuvering equipment, while also adhering to safety measures including the use of protective gear.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver's license.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency in handling air conditioning systems is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of mechanical repair techniques and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to produce clear documentation and work orders.
- Competence in using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
