Job Title: Ecologist / Environmental Scientist

Job Summary:

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Ecologist/Environmental Scientist to join our team in Mount Dora, FL. As a key member of our environmental team, you will assist with ecological field assessments for projects in the mining, energy, and commercial development industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct protected species surveys, vegetative monitoring, hydrologic monitoring, and water quality sampling
  • Support with other ecological assessments and reporting
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and regulatory agency staff

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a natural resources field (e.g., biology, zoology, botany, ecology, or environmental science)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a natural resources professional
  • Strong preference for candidates with a FFWCC Gopher Tortoise Authorized Agent permit
  • Proficiency in Avenza, ESRI Field maps, sub-meter GPS, and data processing
  • Experience operating a 4x4 truck preferred
