Job Summary

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of materials in and out of our facility. This includes preparing and reviewing shipping documents, verifying accuracy, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule outbound shipments, working closely with sales and production teams.
  • Determine the optimal loading order and placement of products to ensure efficient use of space.
  • Verify shipping documents and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Set up shipments with outside freight companies and coordinate routing of orders.
  • Ensure all internal and external paperwork meets regulatory requirements.
  • Document any shortages or issues with orders and communicate with sales and admin teams.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in shipping and receiving or related fields.
  • Working knowledge of standard DOT concepts, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Preferred understanding of company policies and procedures.
