Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Procedures Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital. As a Special Procedures Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate medical diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in imaging procedures such as angiography and cardiac catheterization (CC), as well as those performed in the Interventional Radiology Lab.
  • Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
  • Perform technical radiographic procedures in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
  • Obtain high-quality radiographic images; reviews quality of radiographs to insure quality standards have been met.
  • Obtain and document all pertinent patient information prior to exam, i.e., patient history, pregnancy, allergies and obtains informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
  • Maintain effective communication with patient; provides explanation of procedures within scope of practice.
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with radiologists.
  • Be responsible for rotating call will be assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Current ARRT credential; RCIS credential also considered in conjunction with minimum Interventional Radiology (IR) experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years licensed experience in Radiology to include at least one (1) year of IR experience
  • Angio, Peripheral and Neuro experience a plus.
  • BLS required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
